Taking his post on October 1, 2014, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will pay a visit to Turkey on 9-10 October 2014 as part of his first group of visits to Allied capitals.

Mr. Secretary General will be received by H.E. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and H.E. Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu. He will be having a working breakfast with Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, and meeting with Minister of National Defence İsmet Yılmaz and Chief of General Staff General Necdet Özel.

At the meetings, a detailed exchange of views on growing instability in the Middle East, primarily Iraq and Syria, and current situation in Ukraine, as well as other principal issues on NATO’s agenda in light of the Wales Summit decisions are expected to take place.

Mr. Secretary General will also visit the U.S. Patriot units deployed to Gaziantep on 10 October 2014.
