H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey will pay a visit to Tripoli today (May 30th).

During the visit, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu will meet with Mr. Fayez Mustafa Al-Sarraj, President of the Presidency Council of the Government of National Accord and Mr. Mohammed Taher Siyala, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who took office on 30 March 2016 in Tripoli.

The visit of Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu will constitute an important opportunity to emphasize once again that Turkey stands by the Libyan people and the Government of National Accord in this difficult transition process.

During the visit, a humanitarian aid package consisting of food and medicine will be delivered to the Libyan authorities.

On this occasion, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu will also initiate the re-opening process of the Turkish Embassy in Tripoli, which was evacuated in 2014 due to the deteriorating security conditions.
