We are deeply saddened by the loss of lives caused by unidentified perpetrators who opened fire on demonstrators during a protest rally held today in Beirut.
We wish that those responsible for this grave incident will be captured and brought to justice as soon as possible. We invite all Lebanese parties to exercise restraint and refrain from acts of violence in order to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
